Based in Naperville, Illinois, Coriant, an optical transport vendor in over 100 countries, has appointed a new CEO for their company. Shaygan Kheradpir is now the new CEO of Coriant. The company is looking for a new direction, and they believe that Shaygan Kheradpir is the right person for the job.
A true businessman, Shaygan Kheradpir is a “proven leader with extensive industry, business, and operational experience.” He has over 28 years of experience as an executive and has worked in various business fields such as telecom, technology, and financial services.
Shaygan Kheradpir was the CEO of Juniper, a company that produces networking products. Pat DiPietro, the former CEO of Coriant, now the vice chairman, has praised Kheradpir for his broad experience and important “strategic insight and guidance” he will be able to bring to the company. He also believes that Shaygan Kheradpir will “drive Coriant to the next level of growth.” Since Kheradpir has become the CEO, Pat DiPietro returned to Marlin Equity Partners as the operating partner of Coriant.
Coriant, a major company that has over 500 customers around the globe and a company that rakes in around $1 billion in revenue, this will not be such an easy job for Shaygan Kheradpir. However, he has a great deal of experience in running a big company as he was the Chief Operations and Technology Officer for Barclays Bank. Also, he has a great deal of experience in the networking industry as he has worked at GTE and Verizon Communications as well.
Network industry is a rapidly growing field, and Coriant will have to compete with well established companies like Cisco, Huawei, Infinera, Ciena, Alcatel-Lucent, and such. However, with the expertise Shaygan Kheradpir will be bringing to Coriant, I do not doubt that he will be able to successfully lead the company to rise up towards becoming the industry leading optical transport vendor in the rapidly changing world economy.
